Oakland ACHA DI Hockey General Manager Corey Hagood is pleased to announce that defenseman Jacob Parker has committed to Oakland. Parker comes to Oakland after playing last season with the Metro Jets (USPHL Elite).

“I’m really excited to commit to Oakland.” Parker stated. “The school and hockey program are great, and I’m looking forward to being part of the community.”

“We are thrilled to announce the commitment of Jacob, he slots right away into our d-core and add size to our lineup, the thing I was most impressed with was his ability to read the game as well as his net front presence.” Oakland head coach Nick Mammel stated. “Having been on the ice already with us he’s way ahead of many of his peers, he comes from a well known and local jr club (Metro) and we can’t wait to further his development.”

Parker played in 21 games last season recording a goal and four assists. “I chose Oakland because of how close it is to home and great coaching staff.” Parker added. “The team culture also seems amazing, and I believe it’s the best place for me to grow as a player.”

The coaching staff led by head coach Nick Mammel was also a big part of why Parker chose to play at Oakland. “The coaching staff impressed me with how professional they were and the genuine interest in my development. They have a great vision for the team, and I’m confident they will help me reach my goals.” Parker said.

Parker will be a reliable steady defenseman, which will help the team gain success. “On the ice, you can expect a focused and dedicated player. I’m a reliable defenseman who makes smart decisions and supports both defense and offense.”

He plans to study Information Technology and says “I’m passionate about it and Oakland has great programs in this field.”
