Friday Home Opener Starts 2025-26 Season

Matchup: Oakland University (0-0-0) host Northern Illinois (4-2-0) Friday night at 8:55pm and Saturday afternoon at 4:00pm at Suburban Ice Rochester.

Scouting Oakland: With the regular season getting underway, Oakland features brothers Vinnie and Jack Anderson among the forward ranks. Forwards Stefano Mini and James Talmers return for another season. Freshman forward Joe Aiello will bring additional depth and contributions. On defense freshman Patrick Czarnecki will stabilize the blueline with help from the defensive unit also featuring returning captain Keith Pilut. In net Connor Carroll, Jonah Stern and Ethan Jordan have been added to solidify the goaltending position.

Scouting Northern Illinois: The Huskies are led by forward Robbie Zimmerman with six goals and seven assists. Forward Julian Mueller has 11 points, while forward Ryan Morgan leads the team with seven goals. Defenseman Keaton Peters leads the blueline with three goals and six assists. Nathan Wilczack has five points. In net goalie Matthew Jurgens (3-1-0) has a 2.79 goals against average and a save percentage of 92%
