Rochester, MI- Oakland ACHA DI Hockey general manager Corey Hagood is pleased to announce that forward Spencer Nicoloff has committed to Oakland. Nicoloff comes to Oakland from the Long Beach Sharks (NA3HL) where he scored 15 goals and 16 assists. “Relieved and excited to play hockey at the next level while pursuing a degree.” Nicoloff stated about his commitment.

Oakland was one of Nicoloff’s first offers and the early interest was one key point. “Very affordable and one of my first official offers.”

“We are thrilled to have Spencer, he’s a dynamic 200ft forward that will help us in all phases.” Oakland head coach Nick Mammel stated. “Coming from the Long Beach Sharks he has been developed tremendously and will be mature in his approach to the game.”

“It was a real pleasure coaching Spencer the last two season.” Long Beach coach Bobby Davis told oaklandhockey.org “He showed up every day with a consistent work ethic. He was a huge part of way we made it to the Frazier cup last season. Spence helped us when both shutting opposing teams top offensive players, timely goals, and offense when needed.”

On the ice you’ll see a forward that will help create scoring chances for his teammates, while working hard. “I would say I’m a very creative forward that can help generate scoring opportunities for others.” Nicoloff stated.

Throughout the recruiting process, Nicoloff felt comfortable with everyone involved with the program. “I felt very welcomed by the players and coaches.” Nicoloff said.

Nicoloff also attended the April recruit skate, which helped him decide to join the team. “It helped me gain confidence and allowed me to visualize myself being a part of the team.”

Nicoloff will be studying General Business while attending Oakland University.
