Oakland ACHA DI Hockey general manager Corey Hagood is pleased to announce the teams 2024-25 leadership group. Defenseman Keith Pilut has been named as the 19th captain in Oakland Hockey history.
Forward Stefano Mini, forward Lance Markowitz and goalie Parker Remelius will serve as alternate captains this season.
“We are thrilled to announced our leadership group this year, they were asked to step up and prove themselves as leaders over the last year and they have. Head coach Nick Mammel stated. “Keith, Lance, Mini, and Parker have all their own abilities and contributions to the team and are examples of what we strive to be. I’m honored to have them as the first captain group in my time at Oakland.”
“Keith will be our Captain, his extensive work on and off the ice as well as his communication with our staff and the acting as the bridge between us made him a great selection to wear the C. He works hard for us and represents us to the highest standard within the community, he understands that wearing the bear and ultimately wearing the C for Oakland University mean and the extra attention that come with it”
Captain Keith Pilut statement on being named captain:
“It is an honor and a privilege to be named the 19th captain of Oakland University Hockey. This program is headed in a great direction and I couldn’t be more excited for the opportunity to represent the team with the C on my jersey. We have had many captains lead this program to success and I am excited to continue that legacy. I know it’s a big role, and I’m ready for it. There’s a lot of pressure on us this year – not just expectations from the team or from our staff, but from myself. This is going to be a big year for us, we wouldn’t want it any other way.”
Forward Stefano Mini statement on being named alternate captain:
“I am honored to lead our team towards the common goal, I will uphold the prestige, honor, and respect of the team. Our opponent may not fear us but they will respect us, it is our time; Dues vult.”
