Oakland ACHA DI Hockey General Manager Corey Hagood is pleased to announce that forward Vincent Anderson has transferred to Oakland from New England College (NCAA III).

“Excited to commit to Oakland and excited for the upcoming season” Anderson stated.

Anderson played junior hockey in the NA3HL where he scored 17 goals and 40 assists while playing 40 games for the Oklahoma City Blazers. He also played for the Soo Eagles (NOJHL) and in the USPHL Premier for both the Nashville Spartans and the Carolina Jr. Hurricanes.

“Vinnie comes to us from the NCAA D3 level, he has a very high IQ and a great knack for goal scoring.” Oakland head coach Nick Mammel stated. “I first saw him at the NA3 level where he was an elite player for the OKC Blazers, he was always a tough matchup for us and it’s great to be on the other end now. Kids like Vinnie are what we hope to build our program on, elite players from the local area.”

Knowing coach Mammel from juniors made the process to join Oakland quick and easy. “The recruiting process was simple and easy because I have a relationship with Coach Mammel having played against junior teams he coached in the past.” Anderson said.

Being local was a big part of the reason for Anderson to come to Oakland. “The decision to play at Oakland was proximity to home and quality of education.” he added.

He will to be key part of the offense for the Golden Grizzlies. “On the ice I am a crafty and creative player who uses lots of deception to make plays.” Anderson stated. “I play a two-way game as a winger.”

Anderson will be a Business major while attending Oakland.
