The Great Lakes Collegiate Hockey League (GLCHL) announced this weeks “GLCHL Performers” and six Golden Grizzlies received mentions following the teams sweep over Niagara.

Forward Luke Mackin, after his first career four point night on Friday night was named as a “GLCHL Performer” Mackin scored one goal and three assists on Friday. He also recorded an assist in Saturday’s 6-5 overtime win over Niagara.

Captain Greg Meuser was named after scoring two goals and two assists on Friday night. He scored a goal on Saturday to cap a five point weekend. His four points Friday, was the most Meuser has had in a single game this season.

Freshman forward Brendan Smith received honors after scoring two goals and three assists this past weekend. Smith was key in Saturday’s comeback win factoring in on three of the six Oakland goals, including an assist on the game tying goal.

Jeremy Schwartz had a big weekend for Oakland, scoring three goals including the game winning overtime goal on Saturday night. He has recorded at least one point in each of the five games this semester.

Oakland forward Cam Schwartz also was mentioned by the GLCHL for his five point weekend which included three goals. Schwartz also scored the game tying goal late in the third period on Saturday night. He now leads the Golden Grizzlies with 18 goals and a team leading 5 power play goals.

Forward Chase Sereno had a four point weekend, which included three of his four points on Friday night. He scored two goals and two assists on the weekend. He leads the team with 33 points and a team leading five game winning goals.
